What glue can be used for attaching a rubber fender to a wooden boats gunnels?

I used West Systems epoxy to attach them to Boston Whalers. I would use West Systems Six 10 epoxy in a tube if I was doing it today. That is in addition to screwing them in every couple of feet. I used c clamps to hold them in place while it set up.What glue can be used for attaching a rubber fender to a wooden boats gunnels?
Ive affixed neopreme rubber to an epoxy coated steel structure on my ship. This is for chafing (rubbing) gear on a boat davit. This is a high impact, frequently abraided site. The product I used was called "Marine Goop" I have used in on two different ships and the stuff is holding after 5 years. When I applied it, I ensured the temperature range was within the manufacturers instructions and I clamped it along its entire length while the glue dried. I also scratched up both surfaces to ensure the glue had something to hold on to.What glue can be used for attaching a rubber fender to a wooden boats gunnels?
You'll need a mechanical fastener, too- screws or bolts. I use 3M's 5200, but that stuff is no joke- it takes an act of God to get it off once it bonds. What glue can be used for attaching a rubber fender to a wooden boats gunnels?
I would recommend a marine epoxy.
