Why is aluminium used in boats?

i have a chemistry essay and i have to write about how the arrangement of electrons make aluminium ideal for use in boats|||Aluminum is good for boats because it is low density.|||Al alloys are strong, light weight, available in the form of sheets and many other shapes, it is easy to fabricate by welding/riveting/bolting, is reasonably corrosion resistant, and Al is cheap.
