When were phones used on boats?

What year were telephones on boats? Or is it to be invented? Thanks! Provide resources?|||Ships built in the early 1900's had internal phone systems (you could call other cabins). I can't find a date for the first ship with a phone system, I would guess it was not long after phones came into use on land (1880's?). The first ship to shore radiotelephone call was in 1922. The limitation was the range of your transmitter. Ships today use satellites that allow you to call any phone on earth while at sea.|||Well, phones werent really installed on boats. They use radio and satelite to talk to other boats. Its not like landline phones we use in our homes.|||i think mobile phones on ships werent possible until the late 80s|||1744
