What is the average mark up for boats? New vs used? How do you know this?

I am looking to get a boat and I was just curious. I've heard that boats are marked up as much as 300% for retail but that seems high to me. Thanks|||Your right. On New Boats the max mark-up is 40% on the boat, and 50% on Acc. Parts are 30% Props 40% however, Few boats sell for list. A Good dealer is happy to get 25-27% on the boat., including the optional equipment, and he gives 5% to the salesman. So, most dealers don't make as much as a tipical car dealership. I've been in the Boating business for over 34 years.
